Eligibility conditions for the user groups

  1. To be eligible to benefit from access to the EFNUDAT facilities, a user group must satisfy the following two conditions:
    • both the user group leader and the majority of the users must come from EU Member States or from Switzerland.
    • both user group leader and the majority of the users must come from a country other than the country where the facility is located. This condition shall not apply when the legal entity operating the facility is an international European interest Organisation (e.g. CERN)

  2. Only user groups that are entitled to disseminate the knowledge they have generated under the project are eligible. The sole exception shall be user groups from an SME that wish to use the infrastructure for the first time.

  3. The PAC will base its selection on scientific merit, taking into account that priority should be given to user groups who:
    • have not previously used the facility
    • are working in countries where no such research infrastructure exists.

  4. The proposed experiments must be situated in one of the following research domains:
    • waste transmutation and minimisation, accelerator-driven systems
    • improved reactor operation and fuel management
    • advanced innovative nuclear energy systems
    • nuclear reactor safety
    • advanced methods in nuclear technologies, safety and security.
