Joint Research Activities
- Joint research activity 1 (JRA1) aims at improving techniques for nuclear data measurements using modern fast digitizer system by development of harmonized software for data reduction and analysis which can be employed on the different hardware platforms used by the EFNUDAT partners. Particular focus will be given to methods for on-board data reduction to cope with the increasing data rates obtained with state-of-the-art digitizer.
- Joint research activity 2 (JRA2) focuses on improving the characterisation of the neutron beam facilities participating in EFNUDAT. This will be achieved by comparing the methods used for neutron fluence measurements, improving the existing instruments and developing new detector materials for neutron measurements. Monte Carlo techniques will be developed for modeling entire neutron beam facilities as well as detector with high granularity.
- Joint research activity 3 (JRA3) will concentrate on the improvement of neutron production targets used at EFNUDAT facilities. It will also produce a data base for existing neutron reaction targets available for experiments and try to open new and revitalize existing facilities for sample preparation. Particular focus will be given to radioactive targets.
